Born in Cuba, Dr. Colina moved to Puerto Rico at an early age. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology and a doctorate in medicine from University of Puerto Rico. He then pursued Internal Medicine at the VA hospital in San Juan, PR. Dr. Colina joined the Air Force, where he served as Chief of Internal Medicine at Columbus AFB. Afterwards, he moved to Washington, DC, where he studied Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He then served two years in the Air Force as a Gastroenterologist and retired from the Air Force with the rank of Major. Dr. Colina moved to Florida and worked in private practice in Sarasota for many years. He then relocated to Orlando and joined Gastroenterology Associates of Osceola. Dr. Colina has a special interest in Colorectal Cancer prevention, polyp removal, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He is married and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, and traveling. He also enjoys extreme sports, such as skydiving and scuba-diving.
